I am a massive fan of Jason Isaacs, and once again in staggered at just how brilliant he is, and how nice to see him taking part in a TV series, he's seriously good. The fourth, Started Early, Took My Dog is about child abduction, and people who fall through the cracks of modern Britain unless somebody bothers to help. I love the touches of humour, the scenes involving the dog were funny. I miss Victoria Wood so much, her standup, writing and as we see here, her phenomenal acting talents, she is superb here. It's such an engaging mystery, there are so many interesting strands, all are so satisfying, there seems to be a parallel, removal of pets and people from those who offer no care, just harm, it's so well acted, there's a huge ace up the sleeve, Victoria Wood. ![]() This was a great start to the second series, it picks up exactly where the first ended, Jackson is trying to carry on after his wife and daughter emigrated. I loved series one, and if I'm honest, I wasn't aware there was a second series, so this represented a lucky find on Britbox. Feeling guilty after being duped to take care in a kidnapping incident in Germany, Jackson returns home, and is approached by a young woman, Hope, who employs him to find her birth parents.
